To prevent incidents of crime on campus, a competent Residential Education/Housing staff, a professionally trained Campus Safety force, faculty, staff, and students are responsible for contributing to a safe environment. This entails abiding by campus policies.

Alcohol Incidents

Campus safety officers patrol campus 24 hours a day to respond to incidents, provide safety escorts, and enforce college policies. Card access systems secure buildings after hours and blue-light emergency phones are in strategic locations on campus. Campus Safety maintains a Memorandum of Understanding with the Northeast Division of the Los Angeles Police Department and calls upon them for support when needed.

The Alcohol Incident log is a record of all alcohol related incidents and alleged alcohol related incidents that are reported to the Campus Safety Department within the department's service area ( view map ). A report will be entered into the log within two business days of when it was reported to the Campus Safety Department. Entries are organized by the date an incident was reported.

Please have as much of the following information as possible ready when offering a report:

  • Who was involved (details of clients or staff)
  • How, where and when the incident occurred
  • Who was injured and the nature and extent of injuries (if applicable)
  • A brief narrative of events
  • What action is being taken in response to the incident.
